Description
Can you guess this animal? Found in the Southeast United States, this freshwater species can grow to be over five feet long! Its unusual snout contains electroreceptors that help the fish to better find its favorite food--tiny little organisms called zooplankton. This fish filters its food through “gill rakers,” similar to basking shark.  Paddlefish. Taken by USFWS.
